Wall Cross – Those Who Believe Are Never Alone
From
€5.69*
This modern wall cross is an exclusive gift confirmees, first communicant, colleagues, volunteer and those celebrating their birthdays. The cross is the most important Christian symbol and finds its place in the middle of our lives as the symbol of faith, as a place for meditation, motivation and inspiration. The cross is seen as a visible connection between the worldly and the heavenly. The longitudinal axis from top to bottom shows the connection between God and the world. The short lateral axis represents the humanity’s love for one another. At the point where the axes, God’s love for humanity is expressed. The Ichthys symbol comes from Greek and means “fish“. Early Christian used the fish during the times of persecution as a secret symbol of recognition. To be sure if present, unknown people were followers of Jesus or not they drew an arch in the sand. If the other person then completed the symbol with another arch to make the fish they revealed that they too were a Christian. The fish wasn’t chosen at random, but rather has two meanings. Firstly, it refers Mark 1:17 where Jesus called upon Simon (who was later named Peter) and his brother Andrew while they were fishing in the Sea of Galilee to go with him and become fishers of men. As well as this, a type of profession of faith can be derived from the beginning letters of the Greek word: I - JesusCh - Christ [the "anointed", in Hebrew "Maschiach" (the Messiah)]Th – God‘sY – Son S – SaviourIn our Online-Shop you’ll also find wall crosses made of olive wood, bronze, glass and much more.
