Within her design workshop, Susanne Boerner added the white angels to her range of products. Alongside the unpretentious yet elegant design of the red angel it also radiates a soft kindness. For the 60th anniversary of the “treaties of Rome”, 13 larger than life sculptures were put up as a permanent exhibition in front of the European Commission’s building to decorate the Jean Monnet house in Brussels. The figures beam with the ceramic heads, metallic bodies and distinctive faces humour and charm and in this way portray the diversity of the European nations.
