The 6th edition of the Greek New Testament with Greek-English dictionary. The most up-to-date text of the Greek New Testament with an easily accessible critical apparatus and a complete Greek-English dictionary. After more than ten years of intensive preparation, the 6th edition of the UBS Greek New Testament (UBS6) will be published in 2026. This edition will be combined with a Greek-English dictionary covering the complete vocabulary of UBS6.The work offers the most up-to-date Greek text with the textual changes from the volumes of the Editio Critica Maior on the Acts of the Apostles (2017), the Gospel of Mark (2021) and Revelation (2025). As a result, the text differs from the 5th edition in well over 100 places. The text is identical to that of the 29th edition of the Novum Testamentum Graece (‘Nestle-Aland’), which is in preparation for 2026. The apparatus includes clearly structured entries on all important variants of the text. The selection of passages was guided by the question of their relevance for the translation and interpretation of the text. The significance of the so-called Textus Receptus has also been given greater consideration than in previous editions. Compared to the 5th edition, the selection of manuscripts has been focused on the most important witnesses and supplemented with new manuscripts (papyri 128 to 141). An easy-to-read introduction (in English) provides an overview of the edition. Overall, this work is therefore better suited than ever for introducing readers to exegetical and textual criticism of the New Testament in its original language. It is published by an international and interdenominational committee, which is also responsible for NA29 and works closely with the Institute for New Testament Textual Research: Holger Strutwolf, Hugh Houghton, Christos Karakolis, David Parker, Stephen Pisano, David Trobisch and Klaus Wachtel. The author of the dictionary is Barclay M. Newman. The most up-to-date text of the Greek New TestamentWith Greek-English dictionaryWith all text changes from the ECMApparatus with all important text variants Published by an international and interdenominational committee
Quo vadis, theology? This was the question addressed at an international conference on which this volume is based. Various perspectives were added to the guiding intention of thinking theology in the public sphere: the contributions range from church-historical contexts to systematic-theological horizons and practical-theological challenges. These perspectives gain an additional decisive profile through the transnational expansion of the authors. On this basis, the volume attempts to provide further impulses in the context of the "Quo Vadis?" posed at the beginning and to reflect on theology from the perspectives just mentioned, which are intertwined with the public sphere.
This Greek-English dictionary of the New Testament has been compiled on the basis of many years’ experience in translating the New Testament worldwide. It differs from traditional dictionaries: rather than listing the meanings of words according to logical and historical principles, the various meanings are presented according to their usage in the New Testament. In this way, the most important and most frequent meanings appear first, whilst the secondary, less frequent meanings are listed afterwards. It covers the complete vocabulary of the Greek New Testament in accordance with the forthcoming 29th edition of the Nestle-Aland Novum Testament Graece (NA29) and the 6th edition of the UBS Greek New Testament (UBS6). A system of cross-references links related Greek terms, and the appendix contains an overview of groups of words with similar meanings.
