Symbols often say more than words. These colourful rainbow fish show us that Jesus makes our lives colourful. A symbol of blessing that can be used for a number of occasions within congregational work. Each piece is a one of a kind! These small pieces of art are carefully cut, ground and finally polished with wax by hand in line with a long tradition. These little pieces have been painted with trend colours since the beginning of the 1990’s. Because of this, no fish is like another. Each one is unique, a true one of a kind! Fair trade with our partners is important to us. That why we take great care that contracts are spread over the whole year and the payment is made fairly to trade partners.

A potpourri of Christian symbolism! The fish (Ichthys) and the candle light represent Jesus, the rainbow colour stands for God’s love for us. Each fish made of soap stone is a unique piece. They have been made by hand in Kenya and are Fair Trade. Size: approx. 7.5 × 4.5 cm, Height: 2.5 cm. Delivery of the tea lights is mixed! The Ichthys symbol comes from Greek and means “fish“. Early Christian used the fish during the times of persecution as a secret symbol of recognition. To be sure if present, unknown people were followers of Jesus or not they drew an arch in the sand. If the other person then completed the symbol with another arch to make the fish they revealed that they too were a Christian. The fish wasn’t chosen at random, but rather has two meanings. Firstly, it refers Mark 1:17 where Jesus called upon Simon (who was later named Peter) and his brother Andrew while they were fishing in the Sea of Galilee to go with him and become fishers of men. As well as this, a type of profession of faith can be derived from the beginning letters of the Greek word: I - JesusCh - Christ [the "anointed", in Hebrew "Maschiach" (the Messiah)]Th – God‘sY – Son  S – Saviour
